This is yet another reason to love JKL...  I was watching GMA this morning and they did a piece on "Pageant Dads", and the public response to dads being involved with their daughters for shows like Toddlers & Tiaras (rather than the traditional parenting role most dads have).

Not sure how Jimmy got Tom Hanks (and the rest) to participate in this spoof, but he definitely has some "big ones" to pull it off...  

Make sure to watch the reaction Hanks has after the winner is revealed.

MEAN... Taylor Swift's new Anti-Bullying Video...

Whether or not she is "Gay-Washing" for our "Pink Dollars" is not important. Taylor Swift has just released her new video "Mean" and is helping to sustain the awareness about bullying. I post this in memory of a kid I met a few years ago (the son, of a boyfriend's, sister's, girlfriend) who, for whatever reason, decided to take his own life this past week, at the age of 21...

Mark, was one of the sweetest and most intelligent kids I have ever met. He was not afraid to dress differently, wear his hair differently, or act differently. His mom (I'm sure) was challenged by his style, interests, and behaviors, but always supported him. He got good grades, was an avid reader and introduced me to the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", from where this blog get's it's description (in the banner at the top of each page) "A Colorful Perspective on Life, Love, the Universe, and Everything". I don't know if he was ever bullied for his uniqueness (although I suspect he was), but I do know he will be missed by many...

My heart and thoughts are with his mom Denise, who will always be my friend...

A Sense of Humor...

I have been told by many that I have a weird sense of humor... Personally, I have no idea what those people are talking about. As Forrest Gump's mom may have said "Weird is...  as Weird does". Who, beside myself, is better qualified to put a label on my "quirky" sense of humor?

If I were to put a finger on the adjective that best describes mine, it would not be weird or quirky, it would be "Sarcastic"... I know it's a bit of a fault, but it's all I got folks!  I ran across this a week or two ago, and know many of you (in retail or service industry jobs) might at least empathize with me as to where it comes from...
