This is the exact wording you will see on your ballot, Tuesday, November 7th (in the Commonwealth of Virginia):
Question: Shall Article I (the Bill of Rights) of the Constitution of Virginia be amended to state
"That only a union between one man and one woman may be a marriage valid in or recognized by this Commonwealth and its political subdivisions.
This Commonwealth and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal status for relationships of unmarried individuals that intends to approximate the design, qualities, significance, or effects of marriage. Nor shall this Commonwealth or its political subdivisions create or recognize another union, partnership, or other legal status to which is assigned the rights, benefits, obligations, qualities, or effects of marriage."?
Why on earth do we need an amendment to our constitution that is so ambiguous? Check out the following videos if you would like to see some of the answers/questions this amendment might raise...
Vote NO Virginia!
Stepping off soapbox now!

With any luck the people of Virginia will realize how important voting no on this issue is. Trust me I'll be watching election night to see the results.
At least Virginia is voting on this in some way. The Kentucky Legislature just PASSED a bill barring this kind of thing from being voted on at all. So, until that Executive Order is repealed (which has NEVER happened in the entire history of this Commonwealth), it'll never go to vote.
Don'tcha just LURVE regressive politics?
Good luck Virginia.
As a person from New Zealand where discrimination against anyone due to their sexual orientation is prohibited and where civil unions between a man and a woman and a man and a man and a woman and woman are completely allowed. The civil union bill here is all but marraige but without the name. We will hopefully progress to marriage in the near future. Our society has become richer and more cohesive since.
So, as a non American, i urge People from Virginia to vote NO on Nov 7th.
As soon as everyone enjoys the same rights, your society will become richer and everyone will benefit whether you are homo or heterosexual.
Good luck Virginia.
Kevin in New Zealand.
