Would you take the "Straight Pill"?

I ran accross this video after posting the one below from BosGuy...  It's an intriguing question and while the polls are closed on the blog that this young man had, I challenge my readers to watch the video, pause it when asked, post a comment here, then watch the rest...

My personal response was not unlike his...  Maybe if I were younger and had experienced less of life my answer would be different.

Over and "Out" from a warm and sunny day off, in Portsmouth, VA

I didn't see a poll anywhere, but there were 17 video responses. Only one guy said he might take the pill. He also said he liked being gay so I'm not sure what to think. Everyone else said they would not take the pill. Of course, this is a biased sampling because these are people who are willing to talk about their sexuality on camera.

I'm married with 3 kids. I wouldn't change. My sexuality is too much a part of who I have always been. And, I like being different. I think the various struggles I have endured because of it have made me much more empathetic to others and a better person overall.

No, I wouldn't take a straight pill. Why should I? I'm normal. It those who discriminate against me who are not normal. I have no more desire to take a straight pill than a straight person would take a gay pill to to be in fashion.

Actually, I feel special because this time around I have lead such an interesting life as a gay man. I cannot imagine a life as a straight man with a wife and the kids. No way. I like myself just the way I am. It was meant to be and it is right.

Great response Ron, and even though I have 4 biological children of my own... I agree, I was meant to be where I am, regardless of the journey to get here...

At one point in my life such a pill would have been a dream come true. Fortunately, such medicine was not available.

Great question. For the same reasons as he, I would keep things the way they are. I like my life just the way it is.
